With more than 22 years of experience in all phases of residential remodeling, Jim Vivrette has a passion for kitchen and bath design. After receiving a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley and finishing a master's program at California State, Hayward, Jim gained several years of management experience in the public and private sector. However, he always dreamed of starting his own business.
In 1986, Jim created Altera Design & Remodeling. Known for his vision and creativity, he has transformed thousands of homes to match the dreams of his clients. Jim loves facing new challenges and prides himself on his ability to overcome design obstacles that have stymied other firms. He has assembled a team of friendly, sincere, intelligent, and creative designers and remodelers who provide impeccable service in all aspects of the job. An award-winning designer, Jim continues to focus his attention on great customer service, tremendous quality, and timely scheduling. He attends numerous education classes each year to ensure that he and the Altera Design & Remodeling team are always on the leading edge of the kitchen and bath industry.
Yuko Matsumoto, AKBD, Designer
Yuko Matsumoto is an Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer, certified by the National Kitchen and Bath Association. She has designed beautiful kitchen and bath remodel projects for Altera Design & Remodeling for the past five years, including some of our most complex projects. After receiving a bachelor's degree in English Literature from Tsuda College in Japan, Yuko completed an Interior Design Certification program at Chabot College. She previously served as a kitchenware buyer for Williams-Sonoma in Japan and Kitchenella, a high-end kitchen goods store also in Japan. Fluent in Japanese, Yuko brings a unique blend of talent, design and cultural perspective to Altera Design.
Sarah Tayor, Designer
Sarah Taylor began to develop her commitment to client satisfaction while a designer for a major home improvement center. Her youthful outlook on life and attention to detail help her to produce designs that are both forward-thinking and practical. Sarah received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design from Chico State University. While at Chico, she became an officer in the student chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers. Sarah continues to be a member and is committed to the professionalism and excellence exhibited by members of the society.
Ray Morrow, Production Manager
As Production Manager, Ray Morrow's job is to guarantee the smooth, worry-free installation of each project. He ensures that all projects are completed in a timely, efficient, and safe manner. Ray has extensive experience in many aspects of construction, and is a licensed electrical and general contractor.
