Conception to Completion
ALTERA DESIGN'S 15 STEPS TO SUCCESS
The process begins with a simple phone call to the Altera Design & Remodeling office. In this conversation we talk about the scope of your project, your needs and desires, timing and a budget range. If we can be of service to you, we set an appointment at your home.
Our visit to your home allows us to meet each other, see the space, further discuss your needs, goals and desires, and pinpoint a budget range.
If the project and relationship make sense for both of us, and if we feel your budget coincides with your wishes, we enter into a simple design agreement.
One of our designers will revisit your home to take photographs, take measurements and discuss the project in more detail.
We then design your project and provide computerized perspectives of the space. We also develop a general plan and a rough cost estimate to within 15 percent of your budget.
We next meet at our Design Studio to review the rough draft design and the rough cost estimate. We will also review cabinet, appliance and countertop samples and catalogs. If we are in agreement, we will proceed to the final design. If the design is not in line with your budget, we will work with you to scale back the project.
Next, the final design is completed and a firm cost estimate is prepared.
We meet with you again to review the final design and cost. The remodeling agreement will be signed and the work scheduled.
One or more meetings will be held in our Design Studio to make final product selections.
We prepare the permit package and obtain the permit, order all elements and create a detailed work schedule for the project.
A week before work begins our designer, production manager and project manager meet with you at your home to answer any final questions and review jobsite information.
The project manager will be on site daily during the project to answer any questions. Our Production Manager will talk with you weekly to ensure total satisfaction.
Altera Design & Remodeling's own staff performs much of the work, with occasional subcontractor specialists for specific tasks. We enjoy close relationships with our subcontractors with whom we have worked with for many years. They are a trusted part of our extended Altera Design family.
When the project is finished, we will do a final walk-through with you to make sure that everything is finished as planned. The Building Department will also make a final inspection.
Finally, we turn the completed project over to you to enjoy for years to come.
